I’d like to introduce you to my fabulous and fashionable friend Crystal Russell, visionary and co-founder of up and coming non-profit organization US “all of us matter” . Together we will be bringing you a Fashion Friday post the last Friday of each month. We will discuss different areas of fashion from the foundations of fashion, dressing for travel, mixing patterns, and much more! I hope you all enjoy her style, wit and GIANT heart as much as I do <3
Fashion with a purpose
Clothes aren’t going to change the world, the women who wear them will. – Anne Klein
These fashion post are not your typical “look at what I am wearing, covet it, and buy it at any cost.” I know the drill of many fashion blogs, although well-meaning, it makes the reader want the bloggers life and wardrobe. I have teamed up with the very talented Savanna Dutcher to bring to you fashion posts infused with advocacy for social justice, dressing to fit who you are and what you believe, and as a result you will be your own masterpiece. I am in no way advising anyone to go out and buy whatever the mall has to offer with the latest trends and ads, telling you these clothes will make you feel happy. I am not saying go buy a cheap thrill of a $20.00 shirt to wear a few times and then toss. I am, however, encouraging you to dress with a purpose and be a conscious consumer. I want you to question everything. Where am I shopping? Who made my clothes? What are the ethics of this very business who I am supporting with my money? These blog post are going to show you how to do just that in practical ways. So, join me on this journey of dressing with a purpose!

Second hand stores are a GREAT way to shop. This coral skirt was found while thrift store shopping!

Tees that change lives!
Freest tees are made by women in Kolkata, India who were once marginalized and trapped by poverty and prostitution. Freest has given them an alternative – a way to find freedom. They have learned new skills and now earn a respectable, shame-free living making tees for you!
Join us on the last Friday of each month for your dose of Fashion With a Purpose <3 And don’t forget to PIN! We love PINS.
